Finance and Admin Assistant
Overview
A detail-oriented role supporting the finance and operations function of The Gear Change. The Finance & Admin Assistant is responsible for maintaining accurate stock processes, managing interstore transfers, and ensuring timely follow-up on outstanding customer accounts, contributing to the smooth day-to-day running of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and process new stock, including invoice checks, product creation, and labelling
- Ensure accurate stock distribution across stores and clear communication with the team
- Manage and monitor interstore transfers
- Track and follow up on outstanding customer accounts in a professional and structured manner
- Capture and maintain accurate financial and inventory data in internal systems
- Support general finance and administrative processes as required
Requirements
- Strong numerical ability and attention to detail
- Comfortable working with Excel/Google Sheets and learning new systems
- Basic accounting knowledge (balance sheet vs income statement, transaction recording)
- Ability to follow processes accurately and complete tasks reliably
- Clear and confident communication skills
- Organised, proactive, and able to meet deadlines
Salary Guidelines:
R15 000 - R18 000 dependent on experience and skills level
Sales Lead - Mowbray
Overview
Frontline role focused on delivering excellent customer service, helping customers find the right bikes and gear, and supporting daily store operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Know and follow the sales process
- Welcome customers and assess their needs
- Recommend bikes, accessories, and services
- Assist with test rides and bike setup
- Inventory management and replenishment
- Maintain store cleanliness and stock presentation
- Support online order packing where needed
- Provide after-sales support and answer customer queries
- Be accountable to the sales target
Requirements
- +3 years sales experience in the cycling industry
- Good communication and people skills
- Expert knowledge of the cycling industry
- Ability to multitask in a busy store
- Reliable, friendly, hospitable, and team-orientated
- Loves to ride
Technician
Overview
A skilled technician responsible for maintaining, repairing, and assembling bicycles to the highest standard, ensuring safety and performance for our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Know the service process
- Diagnose and repair bicycles of all types
- Perform full services, tune-ups, wheel builds, brake/gear adjustments
- Build new bikes for the showroom and customers
- Manage workshop workflow and meet promised turnaround times
- Maintain a clean, organised workshop
- Advise customers on repairs, upgrades, and maintenance
- Record work accurately using Hubtiger
Requirements
- Experience as a bicycle mechanic (qualification preferred but not required)
- Strong understanding of components, systems, and tools
- Ability to troubleshoot and work independently
- High attention to detail and safety
- Good communication skills
- Passion for bikes and technology (MTB, road, gravel, e-bikes)
